Tim Wolf
Section 2W ITCCOA
Hello everyone,

I was wondering if we had an up to date members list so that I can make contact with those in my section. I have been contacted by several
athletic directors requesting help finding a official.  Also, as a section leader I am generating a list of ideas of what you as a section
leader would like to see on our website.
Thanks,
Tim Wolf
Sectional Leaders:

I do want to mention that ITCCOA is now going to sponsor a Track and Field Officials Clinic.  We have talking abut it for year and now
we are going to do it.  This will be a Level 1 Clinic targeting 1st, 2nd, and 3rd year officials.  It is to be held on Saturday, February 20
at St. Charles East High School from 9:00 to 3:30.  We will cover Professionalism, Referee Responsibilities, Starter, and all field
events.  There will be a charge of $20 to association members and $40 to non-members to help with the costs.  Lunch will be
provided.  This will be a “hands-on” clinic.  There are 55 1st, 2nd, and 3rd year officials in the state and 22 of them (40%) are in
northern Illinois (including the Rockford area).  We are planning on moving this Level 1 clinic throughout the state each year.

Just want to get word to you so you can promote it to the young officials in your section.  We need to plan for the future and it starts
now.  We plan on contacting each member of our association about this clinic and the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd year officials in the state that
are not association members.  Another email will follow with all of the other information.  Hopefully, it will be posted on the IHSA
website soon.  Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Sincerely,
Mike Powers
ITCCOA President

Fellow Officials:
You are invited to attend a review of the 2010 Track and Field Part I test to be held at Rochester Junior High School on Wednesday,
January 20 at 7:00 pm.  Owen Fuller has again prepared a power point presentation covering some of the trickier questions on this
years test.  Please bring any questions you might have concerning this years rules exam and we will discuss them as well.  Please
respond to this email and let me know if you will be able to attend.  I look forward to seeing you there.
Sincerely,
Bill Derks

Dave Faker announces:
The Section 4N Test Review Session is scheduled for Saturday January 23rd, 10 AM in Peoria at the Illinois Central College North Campus, Maple Hall, Room 101.
We have heard from quite a few, and expect 20 or so to attend if the weather cooperates. Don Merick and I will co-lead the session as we have for the past three
years. It has worked out well.  As in the past we will offer coffee, juice and donuts.  The cost is very reasonable.
Don Korte announces:
Fellow Track Officials:

Track season will be starting very soon.  The track test that you should have all received by this time is due by February 15, 2010 at the IHSA
office.   I thought it would be an opportunity before track season begins and the track test is due at the IHSA office for the track officials in Region
3N of the ITCCOA to get together.
I would like to give a special invite to Officials from other Regions of ITCCOA to feel free to join us.
On Wednesday, February 3, 2010 at 7:30 PM, let us convene to get acquainted, socialize and discuss some of the questions on the annual track
test and review applicable rules.  Hopefully this meeting will include a PowerPoint presentation on some of this years test questions.  Yes, that
means you will need to take the test before this date. Interpretation often comes into play when we sit down to read the rule book and complete the
test.  Each question has to be read very carefully.  Each year there appears to be a Atrick@ question or two, even if unintentional.
This get together will be held at the St. Irenaeus School Building located in Park Forest at the corner of Orchard Blvd. and Cherry Street.  Parking is
in the back of the school building off of Cherry Street.  Cookies, pop and coffee will be available at no charge.
Now for the tough part, I need know if you are coming or even if you are not coming by January 28th.  So, if you are interested in attending to brush
up on the rules, or just for the opportunity to spend time with fellow officials, please respond to me by e-mail (d.korte@att.net), home phone
(708-748-4624), or cell phone (708-525-4850).  I look forward to hearing from you one way or the other.
Regards,

Don Korte
Region 3N Leader ITCCOA
